Sorry I’ve been so quiet this week! I am working on a big write-up and an article to be posted here and Harlots Parlour and they aren’t ready yet. Here’s a new picture to make sure we’re square

Along with all the other things I’m up to, here’s some things I’ve been loving this week
Lamb Mmmmm Stew The chill weather always brings out the best food.
Speaking of food, I tried Wagyu beef in a super fine place in Chinatown called Plum Valley. As far removed from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown as possible, this was divine in so many ways and yes the beef is the best ever.
Muntazer al-Zaidi who has been released for throwing the shoe at Bush and then wrote this. This is excellent: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/sep/17/why-i-threw-shoe-bush
Lush Shower gels. I just bought the ‘Flying Fox’ gel which is almost entirely honey and I am spending so much time in the bath because of it.. MmmMmm! I did almost get sick in the shop though when I attempted to put it in my mouth.
The wonderful Sabrina and Roman Holiday. Yesterday I hid under my blanket and watched old movies while eating coconut yoghurt, feeling like Hepburn (a casual Hepburn I concede), and I also watched….
Point Break . I never liked Dirty dancing. It was the sort of movie that got foisted on me at other girls houses when I was a kid, and I never appreciated it. The same thing happened with Grease. I was at a friends birthday and naturally enough the two movies they had were Dirty Dancing and Grease. Bah!!! God knows where I got my dislike for them, but I *wasn’t* having it. BUT: Point break was amazing. Keanu Reeves hung up his attempts at being a serious actor (bless him) and embraced his natural strength- Quarterback punk. And Swayze was Bhodi, the surfing skydiving bankrobbing buddhist/party boy who made us all want to wear wetsuits every single day. In Point Break he was my idea of phwoar when I was a teen. And he was the idea of phwoar for every boy I knew too, straight or not. Beyond that, Swayze always struck me as being a really nice guy, and he fought very hard to beat his illness which has unfortunately now claimed his life at a saddening early age. Rest in peace.
Point break did however lie to me about the ease of talking while falling to earth at terminal velocity- You can’t carry a conversation when you’re falling to earth at an average of 120 mph +
My new ipod is green, and personalised! woohoo!
The fact Obama has stopped the European Missile Defense Shield and headed off (or delayed) a new arms race. And with news of his desire to reduce our nuclear arsenal, my love for him continues unabated.
Cashmere - I am stocking up on cashmere again as the winter heads our way.
I’ve got to spend some great time with friends.
Annie Sprinkle – Just cos.
The book I’m reading – Marie Darrieussecq’s Pig Tales. Which is very french, doesn’t paint men very well, and will put you off your food. But is also well read and engrossing. And french.
Paris, Edinburgh, Cologne and Yorkshire, I’ll be over to visit you all very soon
My new vacuum – I’ve a great pride in keeping my flat in good condition, and sometimes end up dancing about to old funk records in my pants while cleaning. Don’t judge! Except I was so chuffed that I started making wrestler moves at the mirror and then realized I could be seen through the window. This happened yesterday afternoon. Blinds are closed now.
Golf. I’m rekindling my love affair with the driving range and may even get some lessons to actually play rather than just hit the ball really hard (to be fair that is the BEST part of golf though!)
Have a great day everybody xx What’s making you happy this season??

Sorry I’ve been super quiet lately, I finally finally finished my last piece of work for my course (for the moment at least) and it took a lot of my attention. That really doesn’t make for an exciting blog post for you. ‘Yesterday I sat in the library and drank lucozade, I need to go to the post office later…’ Hmm. That would certainly have dropped my air of mystique in a heap, so I instead just went super quiet and concentrated on getting my work done, and done it is. Le Jeux Son Fait!
